The HTA defines public display as an exhibition, show or display in which the body of a deceased person or relevant material which has come from the body of a deceased person is used for the purpose of being exposed to view by the public.
The definition of relevant material in the Act is:

The list is not intended as exhaustive or exclusive, but is intended to provide guidance to stakeholders in respect of a number of materials that might be considered relevant material. The HTA will review the list periodically and update it as required.
The list below provides guidance on which types of tissues and cells are regulated under the Human Tissue (Quality and Safety for Human Application) Regulations, 2007 (as amended) (the Regulations).
