Interim Director of Regulation
The Human Tissue Authority is the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use human tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public. We also assess applications for organ and bone marrow donation from living people.
The interests of the public and those we regulate are at the heart of our work and we maintain their confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely, ethically, and with proper consent.
We are looking to recruit an Interim Director of Regulation to provide leadership and oversee the operational management of our Regulation Directorate, ensuring we achieve the highest standards of regulation, consistent with best practice and the strategic objectives of the Authority. This will be a six-month fixed term contract or secondment to provide leadership of our regulatory delivery whilst permanent recruitment for the post is undertaken.
You will need to be able to achieve results from day one. This will require you to demonstrate extensive experience of operating at a very senior level within a comparable organisation where you were responsible for the operational management of a regulatory function.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills will be essential, as you will be responsible for providing the highest quality advice and guidance on licensing and enforcement to all sectors regulated by the HTA as well as working closely with the Department of Health, other agencies and professional bodies.
The successful candidate will need to be available to start immediately.
