We are the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use human tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public. We also give approval for organ and bone marrow donations from living people.

With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the heart of our work, we aim to maintain confidence in the system by ensuring that human tissue is used safely, ethically, and with proper consent.

This is an exciting time to join our organisation as we embark on the delivery of a new strategy which aims to build on our achievements and further strengthen our sustainability, agility and resilience.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will share leadership of our Regulation Directorate and will work alongside our Director of Regulatory Development to achieve the aims of our three year strategy.

In this role you will be responsible for leading our core regulatory functions, ensuring we achieve the highest standards of regulation, consistent with best practice and the strategic objectives of the Authority.

This will require you to demonstrate extensive senior management experience gained within a comparable organisation where you held responsibility for the operational management of a regulatory function.

Exceptional communication and influencing skills will be essential, as you will be responsible for providing the highest quality advice and guidance on licensing and enforcement to all sectors regulated by the HTA as well as working closely with the Department of Health and Social Care, other agencies and professional bodies.
