HTA and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service sign Memorandum of Understanding

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) have signed a joint working agreement, which aims to ensure better regulation by further improving efficiencies and reducing burden.

HTA holds three sucessful workshops for the post mortem sector

The HTA held three events for the post mortem sector during March.  Over 150 delegates from 70 establishments attended.  They included pathologists, APTs, bereavement midwives, police officers and biomedical scientists.

Respond to Government consultation on releasing a dead body from hospital

On 13 January 2015, the Department of Health opened a consultation to seek views on the ‘release of a dead body from hospital’ good practice form. The Department of Health has developed this form to help hospitals have a more consistent, quality-controlled, and timely process to release bodies.
