HTA announces licence fees for 2019/20

Issue date:
07 December 2018

Today the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) has published licence fee levels for the 2019/20 business year.

The new licence fees come into effect from April 2019, with an increase of 2.7% (the CPI rate in August 2018) to the previous year’s fees across all sectors.

Richard Sydee, HTA Director of Resources said:  Each year we review the licensing fees that establishments are charged, to ensure it reflects the resource required to regulate each sector in a fair and proportionate way. We strive to be as efficient as possible and provide the best value to those we regulate. Increases to fees this year across each regulated sector are in line with inflation and reflect increased costs for the HTA. This comes after several years of a concerted effort to make efficiency measures where possibleWe understand that a rise in the fees charged to establishments will never be popular, but we must ensure that our regulatory approach remains effective and of high-quality.
