Data for quarter three of 2025 to 2026

Today we are publishing data about incidents reported to Human Tissue Authority (HTA) during quarter three of 2025 to 2026. You can find it here:

The removal, storage and use of human tissue are licensed activities in the UK.  The appropriate consent should always be in place and managed on HTA licensed premises.

When we are made aware of incidents where this might not be the case, we will seek to establish the facts and consider whether there has been a breach of the Human Tissue Act.

In the Human Application and Organ Donation and Transplantation sectors incidents are called Serious Adverse Events or Reactions (SAEARs).  In the post-mortem sector we call these HTA Reportable Incidents (HTARIs).
