The Human Tissue Authority's (HTA) annual conference will be taking place on Wednesday 6 November at Mary Ward House (Euston, London).
The conference will be a full-day event from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The event is aimed at health professionals working at our licensed establishments.
The conference will focus on key themes across the regulatory environment. It will also provide an opportunity for those we regulate to share their views on how the HTA can continue to deliver the right regulatory response across our sectors.
We have a great and varied line up of speakers and sessions at the event including:
What to expect pre, during and post an HTA inspection
Hosted by a panel of HTA Regulation Managers
An interactive workshop
Where you will discuss topics covering key areas of the HTA’s regulation in relation to your sector. This will be a great way for you to share your views with us, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and answering your questions.
We will also have presentations from:
Deputy Director - Science, Testing, Risk and Resilience at the Office for Product Safety and Standards
Assistant Director, Standards and Policy at the Professional Standards Authority
Tickets for our conference are no longer available.
We will be live streaming the event so that those who are unable to join us on the day can still get involved. We will be uploading the video recordings and presentations onto our YouTube channel, as we have done in previous years.
We will be live-tweeting updates on Twitter using the #HTAConf19 hashtag for those that would like to join the conversations online.
I can no longer come to the event, what shall I do?
Please contact us as soon as you can. As we have a very long waiting list, we can offer your space to someone else. You can get in touch with us by email or by calling us on 020 7269 1900.
Can a colleague attend instead if I cannot make it?
We are happy for a colleague from the same organisation to attend in your place. Please let us know of any changes as soon as possible so we can change the ticket details.
How can I let you know if I have a dietary or accessibility requirement?
Please email us as early as possible with any dietary or accessibility requirements. This is so that we can make appropriate arrangements for you on the day.
Please note: Mary Ward House is a listed building, and does not have a lift. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know in advance of the conference so we can make arrangements on your behalf.
How do I know where I am sitting?
There will be sector-specific tables at our conference this year. Please sit at the sector table that you would like to hold discussions on. If you are unsure which table to sit on, your sector will appear on your Eventbrite ticket. If it does not or it is incorrect, please contact us.
What if I work in more than one HTA sector?
The interactive workshop session will be divided across each of our six sectors (Anatomy, Human Application, Post Mortem, Public Display, Organ Donation and Transplantation and Research). When you registered for your conference ticket, you will have opted to choose one of these sectors. Please join a sector table that corresponds with your ticket.
If you have a question or would like to speak to a member of staff about something regarding another sector, you are welcome to speak to HTA staff during the refreshment and lunch breaks.
How do I get to the venue?
The nearest tube or rail stations are Russell Square (5-minute walk), Euston (10-minute walk) or King’s Cross St Pancras (12-minute walk). The venue’s website also offers details about exact location and transport. Please note, the venue's central London location means that parking facilities are not only limited but may be expensive if you are planning to drive to the event. The event will be held in the Mary Ward Hall and there will be signage leading you to the room.
I have a general question for the HTA, who can I ask?
During the lunch and refreshment breaks, attendees will have the chance to ask questions to HTA staff. You can also ask the HTA host on your table.
Will you be taking photographs or recording the event?
We will be recording our speaker presentations and these will be shared on our YouTube channel. There will also be someone taking photographs of the event throughout the day.
What should I bring into the event?
Please bring an electronic device such as a smartphone or tablet for the interactive workshop session, as we will be using Poll Everywhere. Instructions on how to use Poll Everwhere will be provided to you on the day.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket when I register on the day?
Presenting your printed ticket with you on the day allows us to register you faster. However, we can also search for your booking using your name.
