The working together, building confidence post mortem conference will be of interest to all professionals working in the post mortem sector, including pathologists, anatomical pathology technologists (APTs) and coroners. In particular, we welcome Designated Individuals (DIs) and Persons Designated (PDs) working at HTA-licensed establishments, and representatives of relevant professional bodies.

Coinciding with the launch of the HTA's 2009 report of compliance in the post mortem sector, the conference provides the opportunity to network with colleagues and aims to encourage collaboration between professional groups.

Presentations will include: consent under the Human Tissue Act, the changing role of the APT, a pathologist's perspective on how professional bodies can work together to improve standards, and a session on coroners' reform by the Ministry of Justice. A choice of interactive seminars will also be available in the afternoon.
