Consultation on licence fees 2011/12
In the February 2010 e-newsletter, we announced that we have started to develop the licence fee structure for 2011/12. We are now providing an update on progress and information about the consultation period we are planning.
Issue date: 12 March 2010
We have taken account of the comments we received at workshops in summer 2009 and, with the help of PA Consulting, have analysed HTA activities and costs associated with licensed establishments and licensing. The proposals and the specific questions on which we need views are almost ready for consultation and will be discussed at our public Authority meeting in York on 23 March.
We plan to launch the consultation on the proposed fee model for 2011/12 onwards on 24 March. Allowing a 12 week period for consideration and response, the consultation will end on 16 June. Following the consultation period, we will review all consultation responses, with the intention of confirming the fees for 2011/12 in September 2010.
The proposed consultation period may change if the general election is called before 24 March, since consultation exercises cannot be launched during the election period. If this is the case, we will launch the consultation straight after the election, in order to allow a timely announcement of the fees for 2011/12.
