Regulation Manager

We are the national regulator of organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, organ procurement and transplantation, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public. We also give approval for organ and bone marrow donations from living people. With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the centre of our work, we aim to maintain confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, and with proper consent.

We are seeking a self motivated and diligent individual to join our busy Regulation team as a Regulation Manager. They will need to demonstrate that they are able to lead inspections and investigations across a range of sectors, and that they have the ability to assimilate complex information using their judgement to make evidence-based licensing decisions. Highly developed organisation and prioritisation skills are also essential as they will need to meet deadlines, sometimes working under pressure on a range of tasks, including project work.

The successful applicant will have exemplary writing skills to be able to produce high quality inspection reports for publication on the HTA website and papers for the senior management team and Authority Members. They will also have confident verbal communication skills to provide expert advice and guidance to the public and all levels of professionals, sometimes in a conference or workshop setting. A flair for building excellent working relationships is essential, as is a commitment to provide the best quality service.

A relevant background is desirable, with a knowledge of the post mortem sector being a significant advantage.

To meet the minimum requirement for this role you must be able to travel throughout the UK and commit to overnight stays.
