Regulation Managers
£37k - £48k per annum + excellent benefits
Central London
We are the national regulator for organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public. In August 2012, following the introduction of new UK legislation, we will also start to regulate establishments that carry out activities relating to organ procurement and transplantation. We also give approval for organ and bone marrow donations from living people. With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the centre of our work, we aim to maintain confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, and with proper consent.
Regulation Managers are key to the high performance of our regulatory function. Leading inspections and investigations across the UK, you will be responsible for making evidence-based licensing decisions. Providing expert advice and guidance to a variety of people and groups, you will also be responsible for leading projects, developing and implementing regulatory policies and processes.
A relevant scientific or clinical background is desirable to be successful in this role. Your knowledge or experience of the use of human tissue in patient treatment, or organ transplantation will ideally be enhanced by a demonstrable ability to gather evidence, assess progress, identify key issues and create effective solutions. A compelling communicator, you have a flair for building professional relationships and facilitating teamwork, and a commitment to driving high quality in everything you do.
