How we work
As part of our regulatory remit, we issue Codes of Practice and other practical advice about the Human Tissue Act to ensure best practice is adhered to by the sectors we regulate. we also give advice and information to the Secretary of State for Health and the public about issues in our remit.
Collaboration is one of our founding principles. We engage closely with professionals and public stakeholders to invite them to help us develop our policies and regulatory arrangements.
We believe that if scientific and medical developments are to flourish, it is essential that they are underpinned by a robust and proportionate regulatory system. We aim to create and foster an environment in which patients and families have confidence that their wishes are respected, and where professionals support and understand the regulatory framework they must follow.
